FOLLOWING a recent article published by the Sunday Times of London and The Paarl Post which was defamatory, full of inaccuracies, unsubstantiated accusations & innuendo about a former South African who has sold paintings by an apparently "fake" South African artist to well-known British collections, International Collectors.
Mr. Glenn Strutt, a well respected art dealer in the USA & Europe (who most certainly does NOT have a criminal record in South Africa, neither a record of "shady business", as incorrectly rand falsely eported, amongst a few other defamatory allegations against him , specifically by The Paarl Post), provided irrevocable documentary proof that Miss Petrie was indeed a South African artist (1932-2006)
"Unsubstantiated (with written physical evidence or sworn affidavits) allegations were additionally fueled by Susan Botha(ex staff member of Mr. Strutt, some 15 years ago and strangely enough also an ex staff member of The Paarl Post) and David Zetler, Owner of The Hout Street Gallery in Paarl"
Mr. Strutt has also provided evidence of e-mail threats made towards him by the daughter of David Zetler via his facebook account, where she uses the user name of Anna -B Zetler.
The SA Press Ombudsman | Direct Tel. 011 484 3612/8 Direct Fax. 011 484 3619 is looking into the matter after a formal complaint was lodged by Mr. Strutt
